Sambal is generally a paste made from chilli peppers that have been ground to a coarse texture using a stone mortar. A variety of secondary ingredients are then added. This sambal includes coconut which gives a lovely sweetness. It is fantastic served as a spicy condiment with curries, but also great mixed through a curry sauces, smeared into wraps or used with spicy chicken burgers.
